Risks of Liposuction

One very important lesson that you have to learn about life is that everything you do entails risks. Surgery entails risks; driving to the doctor’s office entails risks; taking a bath entails risks. Liposuction has become such a commonplace procedure in the United States that people hardly think about its risks anymore before they trot to the doctor’s clinic. Disfigurement

Yes, disfigurement can happen. It’s a huge irony, considering that you’re getting the surgical procedure in the first place to make yourself sexier. Disfigurement can happen if the surgeon takes out too much fat, takes out too little fat, or takes out fat from all the wrong places. Again, this is a risk that can be minimized if your plastic surgeon is competent and experienced.

Necrosis

Necrosis, or death of tissues, particularly those of the skin, is a very rare complication of liposuction. The people who are at risk for necrosis are those with diabetes mellitus, a condition wherein wound healing is considerably slowed.

There will always be risks if you decide to undergo liposuction. But of course, your surgeon will discuss these things with you before the surgery. Conscientious surgeons would outline every detail of your surgery and present to you all the facts before you undergo it. Weigh the risks for yourself, get help from your doctor, and see if a beautiful body is really worth placing yourself on the operating table.
